Computer Human Interaction Center (CHIC!)

          

In March 1999, Luc Julia and Adam Cheyer created CHIC!, a group made up of eleven researchers from different departments within SRI and eight visiting participants (student interns, visiting scholars), all focusing on advanced human-computer interaction.  To learn each other's talents and become skilled working together, we set an ambitious goal: we would host an open house six months out (November 9th: 9/9/99 at 9am), and develop six new applications that we would demonstrate to the public and press.  Implemented using OAA's coordinated web-service approach, each application, implemented from a community of agents, would stand alone, but also cooperate and work well with the other applications.  The applications?  Two for the car, two for the house, and two for the office:
